I’m a horse lover, Trust & Estates Practice Manager, and homesteading dreamer who believes life doesn’t have to follow anyone else’s blueprint to be meaningful. I believe the best lives aren’t perfect lives — they are intentional ones. They are built slowly, through everyday choices, hard work, lessons learned, and the courage to create something that feels true to who you are.

During the week, you’ll find me navigating the fast-paced world of a law firm — managing the details, deadlines, and complexities of a trusts and estates practice. I thrive on organization, problem-solving, and creating order out of chaos. Working with estates has given me a unique perspective on life, family, and legacy. Over the years, I’ve learned that the things we accumulate are not what define us. What truly matters are the stories we create, the relationships we build, and the impact we leave behind.

But when the workday ends, my heart naturally turns toward the things that keep me grounded: horses, dogs, gardening, country living, and the dream of creating a simpler, more intentional life.

I have always been a country girl at heart — even while living withing the city limits. There is something about the smell of fresh-cut hay, the quiet of a barn at sunset, muddy boots after a long day outside, and the satisfaction of growing or creating something with your own hands that feels like home.

Horses have been part of my story for as long as I can remember. They have taught me patience, humility, resilience, trust, and the importance of showing up — even on the difficult days. Time spent with a horse has a way of bringing clarity. It reminds us to slow down, be present, and appreciate the moment we are in.

For a long time, I thought I had to choose between two worlds — the structured, professional world of my career and the slower, more grounded life I dreamed about. Eventually, I realized my heart was big enough for both.

That is what Roots, Reins & Real Life is all about.

This isn’t a picture-perfect lifestyle blog. It’s about the real, sometimes messy, always rewarding process of creating a life built on purpose instead of expectations. It’s about finding balance, embracing independence, learning new skills, and discovering joy in the everyday moments that make life meaningful.

As a single woman navigating life in my fifties, I’ve learned that happiness doesn’t come from checking all the boxes someone else created. It comes from knowing yourself, staying true to your values, and having the courage to build a life that fits you.

You don’t have to walk away from your career to pursue a simpler life. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes it starts with a small garden, a new skill, a dream you’ve carried for years, or simply choosing to slow down and appreciate what is already around you.

I don’t have all the answers. I’m still learning, growing, dreaming, and figuring things out along the way. But I hope this space reminds you that it’s never too late to create something meaningful.
